How to take a good selfie

Smile with your eyes

It is important to smile not only with your mouth, but also with your eyes.

Think of something that makes you laugh. Or someone who wants you to smile.

To take great selfies your whole face needs to relax.

The eyes are the focus of selfies

So you need to make sure they look their best. Find a pose for them that will stand out in your selfie.

You can look directly at the camera - this pose makes you appear honest and open.

You can also look away from the camera and pretend you don't see it.

Be yourself

The problem with selfies is that they often look unnatural. You can avoid this by being yourself and doing what you want to do.

Also, don't put pressure on the shoulders, don't lower your chin and hide your neck. Stretch your neck forward to avoid a double chin.

Take selfies from many angles

Take lots of photos of yourself and see how they differ. Tilt your head left and right, up and down to see which side is best.

Tilt your camera. Hold your phone slightly above you - this makes the photo appear less intense.

Natural lighting

Go to a window with natural light or find some shade outside. Experiment with soft, beautiful lights in the morning or evening.

Dark undereye circles and shadows will disappear completely in a good light. Natural light gives you a beautiful glow even without makeup.

Don't use a flash. Avoid shadows from strong light, avoid fluorescent lamps and house lighting.
